Research

Research is a very specific type of professional development. Research is teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking and communication competencies in practice. It does not have to happen in a science lab. At Wayne State University, every department, unit and college conducts research. Research happens at teaching hospitals and in clinics. WSU students participate in research with other universities locally and around the world. The majority of pre-med students will engage in research at some point in their academic career, but it is not a mandatory part of the application process.

Students interested in research should begin by connecting with people in their department including their major advisor and faculty members. The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program is another excellent resource. Any research opportunities shared with the PMHSC will be posted in the bi-monthly Warrior Pre-Health Pulse newsletter.
