Complete the FAFSA and submit all documents early, to ensure that you are given maximum aid in the upcoming academic year.
2023-24 Dates and deadlines
The 2023-24 aid year includes the fall 2023, winter 2024 and spring/summer 2024 semesters.
- You can file the 2023-24 FAFSA through June 30, 2024.
- Federal loans accepted after the enrollment period cannot be processed.
2024-25 Dates and deadlines
The 2024-25 aid year includes the fall 2024, winter 2025 and spring/summer 2025 semesters.
- You can file the 2024-25 FAFSA through June 30, 2025.
- All students are encouraged to file the FAFSA early to be considered for all available funding options.
- Federal loans accepted after the enrollment period cannot be processed.
New undergraduates
New first-year undergraduates are encouraged to file the FAFSA early to be considered for all available funding options.
- Wayne State Guarantee and Heart of Detroit program deadlines: We must receive your FAFSA and admissions application by June 1, 2024.
- Merit Scholarship admissions application deadline for first-year undergraduates: June 1, 2024.
- Merit Scholarship admissions application deadlines for transfer students:
- Fall 2024 semester: June 1, 2024
- Winter 2025 semester: October 1, 2024
