Wayne State University provides various forms of financial aid, including federal, state & WSU grants and scholarships, work-study opportunities, and student loans. Most students qualify for some type of financial aid, so we strongly encourage everyone to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year.

Gift aid funding for students at Wayne State University comes from various sources. Most of the grant funding for WSU undergraduates is provided by the Federal Pell Grant program. The largest portion of state funding comes from the Michigan Achievement Scholarship. Additionally, other scholarships are funded by WSU and through the generous contributions of private donors.

Student loans for Wayne State University students are available from both federal and private sources. Federal loans come with benefits such as forbearance, deferment, consolidation, and loan forgiveness options.
