Consumers Energy: Consumers Affordable Resource for Energy (CARE) Program: CARE is a two-year affordable payment plan that helps you stay on top of your energy bills. As a CARE member, you will receive a portion of your monthly bill will be paid by the program and any past due balance you might have will be gradually forgiven as a reward for on time payments. As a CARE member, you may also be eligible to receive no-cost, in-home energy efficiency upgrades to help reduce you energy costs through our Helping Neighbors Program. Detroit Housing Commission (DHC): Information about DHC's many housing programs and affordable housing developments, services to our customers, and contact information. They provide quality affordable housing in a safe living environment for low and moderate- income persons throughout the Detroit Metropolitan area.
DTE: Payment plan for students who have services through DTE. DTE Energy works with government agencies and community organizations to bring energy and payment assistance to low-income residents. If you are behind on your energy bill, please contact them at 800.477.4747 before your service is subject to shutoff. They will work with you to set up a payment plan or advise you of assistance agencies in your area.
