Diversity and inclusion
There's no single characteristic that defines a Wayne State Warrior. We're commuters and campus residents, full-time students and working professionals, faculty members and service staff, parents and grandparents, immigrants and athletes.
Diversity isn't a slogan at Wayne State; it's a reality that's woven into our mission and guides everything we do. We offer an immersive educational experience where students work alongside people from different countries, cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds in a microcosm of our interconnected world. With the most diverse student body in Michigan, our students gain a distinct advantage as they prepare to build successful careers in the complex global marketplace.
Our Office of Diversity and Inclusion is a unique resource dedicated to supporting students, faculty and the entire university community. Led by Associate Provost for Diversity and Inclusion Marquita Chamblee and home to the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement, this committed group of individuals is focused on sustaining Wayne State's inclusive campus and can provide assistance on a number of issues.
