Momentum Week: College 101 is a 7-day on-campus experience that uses lectures, workshops, activities, and support from the Warrior 360 staff to give students an early immersion into college life at Wayne State.

Welcome New Warriors!

We are excited to welcome you - the newest Warrior to campus!

We look forward to meeting you. We will have a week full of activities geared toward preparing you to have a successful college journey! 

Participating in Momentum Week is a student’s investment to a strong start to their college journey in every way through

  • An all-expense paid week on campus with housing, meals, and WSU swag.
  • Features mock lectures, college success coaching, and academic skill-building.
  • Effective tips and tricks for a successful First-Year experience.
  • Plus, the chance to join us for fun outings like bowling, carnivals, and more alongside other incoming students!

Required Participation:

First-year students, who have accepted the Warrior 360 invitation to join our community are required to participate in Momentum Week.

Momentum Week is the single most important experience we can engage you in so that you will be successful in the Fall. Our number one priority is to present you with opportunities to maximize your college experience. As a result, Momentum Week is mandatory and required for all new Warrior 360 members.

Saturday, July 19th through Saturday, July 26th

What to Expect:

During Momentum Week, you will:

  • Receive an all-expense paid week on campus including housing, meals, WSU swag, and more!
  • Connect with your Success Coach for personalized support such as:
    • Building a success plan for your college journey
    • Exploring your academic and personal goals
    • Asking any questions you have
  • Make early and lasting relationships with fellow WSU students
  • Find the specific locations of each of your courses with a guided campus tour
  • A preview of college expectations through mock lectures with professors in different majors
  • Learn, connect, and understand how to use WSU campus resources
    • Speak with a Financial Aid representative to understand your aid/award package
    • Strengthen study skills with research-based study strategies
    • Learn how to navigate Academica, STARS, Canvas, and other university systems
  • Explore off-campus surroundings, like bowling at The Majestic and Midtown Scavenger Hunt

  • How many students are assigned to each room?

    Housing arrangements include suite-style living areas. In each suite, you will have 2 or 3 bedrooms, shared bathrooms, and a living room area. There will be 2 students per bedroom and 4 or 6 students per suite.   

  • How will I know who my roommates are?

    You will be matched randomly with other students for room assignments. You will be notified through a group email who your roommate and suitemates, providing the chance to make connections before Momentum Week move-in.

  • Can I work during Momentum Week?

    No, we ask that students request time off to be fully present to benefit from the academic skill-building, social engagement, and college preparation that Momentum Week offers.
