Students can navigate the appointment menus, or use the name and department directories to easily schedule an advising appointment. Your advisor may already have contacted you with a unique URL that can be used to schedule directly.

If you are a returning student please refer to the Returning Students page on the Registrar's website for instructions on how to update your student record and get ready for registration. In the meantime, please reach out to an advisor directly.

Will I get a reminder of my appointment after I schedule?
You will get an email reminder 24 hours prior to the appointment as well as on the day of the appointment. Please read the message carefully for instructions from your advisor. If you need to cancel, there will be a one-click cancellation button in the email, or go to stars.wayne.edu and click the Cancel Appointment button.
Will Stars 2.0 allow me to schedule during a class time or do I need to be mindful of that?
Currently, this platform does not prevent you from scheduling during class time or other busy times. Please be mindful of your class schedule and other commitments when making an appointment so you do not have to cancel.
I need to reschedule my appointment, what is the best way to do that?
You will need to cancel your existing appointment either by clicking the cancellation button in your reminder email, or by going to stars.wayne.edu and clicking the Cancel Appointment button. You can then click the Schedule Appointment button to find and schedule another appointment with your advisor.
I am not able to find appointment time with my advisor. What is my next step?
Appointments are made available for eight weeks out. Make sure you looking out several weeks for potential appointment availabiltiy. During busy advising times, you can select “Appointment with Any Advisor in My Declared Major/Minor” and schedule with another advisor or use the Appointment Directories to schedule with another advisor in the department. You may also wish to email your advisor directly for other solutions.
How do I know who my advisor is?
When you click the “Department” selection you will see the option to “Schedule an Appointment with My Assigned Advisor (advisor name).” If you are unable to schedule with your advisor, you can select “Appointment with Any Advisor in My Declared Major/Minor.”
I am interested in exploring a minor or another major, how do I schedule with an advisor in another department?
Under “Department” there is an option of “Explore a Major/Minor” which will then allow you to search for the major or minor field of your choice under “Subject” and proceed with scheduling an advising appointment in that area. You can also use the Appointment Directories to schedule with an advisor in the area in which you are interested. You may also email the major/minor advisor directly for other solutions.
I have a declared major but am interested in help preparing for medical school or another health care profession, how do I schedule with a health science advisor?
Under “Department” there is an option of “Pre-Med and Health Sciences Advising” which will then allow you to choose the field of your choice under “Subject” and proceed with scheduling an advising appointment in that area. You may also use the Appointment Directories and use the department directory to locate the Pre-med and Health Science Center and schedule with an appropriate advisor from there.
I have another advisor I need to meet with (e.g. Honors, Veterans, Warrior Way Back), how do I schedule with that advisor?
Under “Department” there is an option of “Other Advising” which will then allow you to choose the area of your choice under “Subject” and proceed with scheduling an advising appointment in that area. You may also use the Appointment Directories and use the department directory to locate the appropriate department and advisor from there.
I need to schedule with a coach/supplemental advisor/department staff in another office, how do I schedule that in STARS 2.0?
Under “Department” review the WSU departments that offer appointments as well as the “Supplemental Advising” area for additional options under “Subject”. Once you have made your selection, proceed with scheduling an appointment in that area. You may also use the Appointment Directories and use the department or last name directory to locate the appropriate advisor from there.
