9 to 10:30 a.m.
"Speak About It" – Creating a Culture of Consent for Commuter Students (Student Center Ballroom)
Warrior Success Path: ☆ ☆
Speak About It is a session about consent, power, and holistic health. This presentation includes engaging, entertaining, and emotional discussions, written by a diversity of college students, that will jump start a conversation about identity, bystander intervention, race, ethnicity, mental health, drugs and alcohol, and other social factors about life on campus. It is recommended that only students attend this session. Additionally, students who live on campus will attend this program and earn their Warrior Success Path stars during New Resident Orientation and do not need to attend again. Masks are highly encouraged. Free parking will be available in Structure 2.

Irvin D. Reid Honors College Convocation (Community Arts Auditorium)
This session is for invited Honors students only.
Warrior Success Path: ☆ ☆
The Irvin D. Reid Honors College Convocation welcomes invited incoming Honors students and their guests to meet the Dean of the Honors College, as well as faculty, staff and students as part of their official membership into the Honors College. Free parking will be available in Structure 2.

New Student Convocation 
(Max J. Pincus Court, in front of the McGregor Memorial Conference Center)
Convocation is the formal welcome to the university. Parents and family members do not need to RSVP to attend with their new WSU Warrior. The ceremony celebrates the beginning of the incoming class' academic career. Free parking will be available in Structure 2.

FestiFall (Gullen Mall, Fountain Court and Keast Commons)
Warrior Success Path: ☆
The FestiFall celebration will begin immediately following the ceremony on the Fountain Court area of Gullen Mall. During the event, students will have the opportunity to meet with various learning communities, hundreds of student organizations, and many campus departments. A picnic and refreshments will also be available free for all students and guests.

3 to 5 p.m.
Explore WSU (various)
Spend some time after FestiFall to learn about campus. Anyone is welcome to attend, regardless of major.

        Come get your hands dirty! Learn the basic techniques necessary to make your own ceramic bowl. You will construct your bowl and leave it to be fired. Decorating and glazing will take place at a later date.

      • Graphic Design - Old Main, room 3117 on the third floor

    • Consider a minor in law! Join us in the Law School to take a sample lie detector test and find out why it is important to the study of law.

    • Join us at MISB for tours of the building, an information table staffed with advisors, cookies, and some giveaways!
  • School of Social Work (Free shuttle from Keast Commons to School of Social Work)
    • The "Social Work BINGO Blast" - Students are invited to come play Social Work Bingo, where they will learn more about the opportunities of our profession and win SW swag prizes. We hope this fun, quick activity will show off not only social work itself, but our program and the community it offers. SW Student Organization leaders will also be present to chat with students, so they will have extra opportunities to engage.

    • Bring your class schedule to aid with finding your classes so you are prepared for the first day.

Welcome Black (Student Center Ballroom)

Join the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement (OMSE) for the fourth annual Wayne State University Welcome Black event! Connect with peers, faculty, and staff during this exciting networking event. The goal is to help all Black students* get connected to WSU campus resources, Black student organizations, and Black faculty and staff at the beginning of the school year.

*All OMSE events are open to all WSU students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds and identities.

8 to 11 p.m.
CAT Outdoor Movie Night (New Indoor Location: Student Center Ballroom)

The Campus Activities Team (CAT) will be sponsoring an optional indoor movie showing of Lightyear. Come on out, meet a new friend, and get a free 7-Eleven Slurpee coupon as we wrap up the night before the first day of classes.
