EOS Engineering Bridge

The Engineering Bridge Learning Community provides structured support in the form of peer mentors and training in study skills, goal setting, time management and self-evaluation. The LC is targeted at freshmen engineering students whose academic preparation does not qualify them for admission to the pre-professional program. Students are organized into groups of 12-16 students who meet weekly with a peer mentor who facilitates group study sessions in Mathematics and Chemistry. Academic progress is monitored by a team of academic advisors, and specialized plans of work are developed to maximize the success of each student. These plans take into account past performance and outside commitments, such as work. Students attend a weekly seminar where speakers from local industry describe their experiences on the job and answer students' questions about engineering careers.
