Physician assistants (PAs) are nationally certified and state-licensed health care professionals who are trained to provide high-quality health care services to patients. PAs practice medicine on heath care teams and share the responsibility for patient care with a physician. Learn more.
Preparing for PA
Each PA's scope of practice is determined by their education and experience. Scope of practice is also subject to state law and facility policy. PAs are educated at the graduate level, with most PAs receiving a master's degree or higher. In order to maintain national certification, PAs are required to recertify as medical generalists every 10 years and complete 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years. Learn more.

The minimum eligibility to participate in the Wayne State Transfer Pathways is a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA), and an associate degree (earned or Reverse Transfer). - All college-level (non-developmental), non-duplicated courses with a 2.0 (C) grade point average (GPA) or above will be considered for transfer credit. Earned credit will transfer as 1) direct course equivalency, 2) major/department credit, or 3) elective credit. Credits not earned at Schoolcraft College will need to be taken at WSU.
