Ewart Jarrett (ab2522)

Ewart is the manager of the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) Veterans Upward Bound Grant (VUB) at Wayne State since 2018, located in the Office of Federal TRIO. He is responsible for providing program activities to eligible participants in accordance with USDE 2022-25 grant. He selects, trains, manages, and mentors full time and part time staff in accomplishing these activities. He also assists with proposal research and grant writing for DOE VUB grants. Ewart manages a five-year budget in accordance with DOE and university regulations and provides annual reporting on the status and progress of the program using standard DOE performance reporting guidelines.

Ewart brings a unique blend of pedagogical knowledge and technical proficiency to his work, and believes that bridging the gap between education and technology is essential for empowering students and enhancing their learning experiences. Outside of the office, he loves exploring the outdoors, where he finds inspiration and relaxation in the beauty of nature.
