Motor City Anthropology

About us

In the Motor City Anthropology FIG, you can connect with students with interests in archaeology, human evolutionary history, and cultures and languages from around the world. We are a globally oriented field, but we place a special emphasis on Detroit’s past and present with field trips, lectures, and other student-led activities. We also show you how to leverage anthropology skills for real-world jobs after graduation.

First-Year Interest Groups (FIGs) are offered to incoming undergraduate students. To apply, please complete the Fall 2024 FIG Selection Survey (submit your request early: seating is limited).
