Lisa L. Fadler joined Wayne Law in 2022 as assistant dean of career and professional development and adjunct assistant professor of law. She brings to Wayne Law nearly two decades of experience in higher legal education including having served as a law school assistant dean since 2012 and a visiting or adjunct professor of law since 2015.
Her areas of expertise include legal and medical professional liability and legal ethics. Dean Fadler has taught Evidence and Professional Responsibility.
Before entering academia, Dean Fadler defended professional liability and other tort cases at Collins, Einhorn, Farrell & Ulanoff, P.C. in Southfield, Michigan; Kitch, Saurbier, Drutchas & Wagner, P.C. in Detroit, Michigan; and Roberts, Perryman & Bomkamp, P.C. in St. Louis, Missouri. Throughout her career, Dean Fadler has represented lawyers, doctors, hospitals, and private corporations in professional liability and premises and product liability cases.
Dean Fadler earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and her B.A. from Kalamazoo College. She also studied at the University of Hanover, West Germany.
Dean Fadler has long-standing professional affiliations with the State Bar of Michigan, the Detroit Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the National Association for Law Placement.
Dean Fadler was recently appointed to the State Bar of Michigan’s Special Committee on Professionalism and Civility as an Advisor. She has been named a Life Fellow of the Oakland County Bar Foundation and has devoted substantial effort to mentoring law students. She serves as a member of the Kalamazoo College Pre-Law Society and Alumni Career Mentoring Network, where she has spoken to undergraduate students about law careers. She has also served as a mentor to the Walled Lake Consolidated Schools, where she sponsors an annual scholarship.
