Chloe is a Detroit native who holds two degrees from historically Black universities. Her first degree is from Alabama A&M University where she was a member of the Honors Program, Sigma Tau Delta, Sigma Alpha Pi and the Royal Court. After attending Howard University's Pre-Ph.D. program, she decided she would continue her journey in academia and pursue a doctorate degree.
Her second degree is from North Carolina A&T State University where she received the Woodland E. Hall Fellowship to fund her degree and served as an A2i scholar. During her second year at NCAT, she worked as a seventh grade English teacher where she taught culturally relevant lessons using hip hop.
After finishing her master's degree, she moved back to Detroit to obtain her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from Wayne State University. She currently studies the intersectionality of antiracism, culturally relevant pedagogy, hip hop based education, and linguistic justice to promote inclusive learning spaces in writing classrooms. Here, she is a member of the composition committee and vice-president of the Wayne Rhetoric Society of America. Chloe is also a current Dean's Diversity Fellow and graduate ambassador here at Wayne State.
