Dean Michel is Director of Employment Analytics & Bar Success at Wayne Law. He is also the Principal Clerkship Advisor for the Law School. Dean works to facilitate student engagement with the office while ensuring students have access to valuable career resources for their preferred practice area. He also ensures adequate bar preparation for students and graduates, advising them along the way to passing the bar in any given state. In addition to his work with students, Dean also oversees and ensures accurate and timely reporting of all ABA required employment disclosures.
Dean graduated magna cum laude from Oakland University, earning his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. Afterward, Dean earned his J.D. from Wayne Law and became admitted to the State Bar of Michigan. During his time at Wayne, he competed with national moot court teams and acted on the executive boards for both the Journal of Law in Society and the Moot Court program.
Before joining the Law School, Dean had the pleasure of taking on numerous positions in the legal field - all very different from one another. During his time as a law student, he externed with the U.S. District Court for the Honorable Bernard Friedman’s chambers, clerked for a boutique civil litigation firm, and was a Summer Associate for a full-service law firm.
After law school, Dean entered private practice where he primarily practiced personal injury, catastrophic accident, and class action litigation before joining the university.
