Biography:

I joined the Division of Engineering Technology at Wayne State University in August 2016 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in August 2022. Prior to joining Wayne State University, I worked as a simulation engineer (focusing on piston thermal management and analysis) at EcoMotors Inc. in Allen Park, Michigan, from May 2015 to August 2016.

Education:
  • Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering, Louisiana State University, 2015
  • Ph.D. (Minor), Mathematics, Louisiana State University, 2014
  • M.Sc., Mechanical Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, 2010
  • B.Sc., Mechanical Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, 2007
Research Interests:

I value the interdisciplinary aspect of research and am currently working on the following research projects:

Engineering:

  • Combustion physics: flame dynamics and instabilities,
  • Fuel reforming and alternative fuel characteristics in power generation,
  • The application of machine learning in reactive flow modeling,
  • Heat transfer and thermal managements in electrified and hybridized vehicles.

Engineering Education:

  • Implementing and promoting active learning pedagogies,
  • Analyzing the identity and professional development for engineering students, and
  • Promoting entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary activities among engineering students.
