Brandon Shamoun, M.Ed., is the Assistant Dean of Students for Student Involvement, Activities and Organizations. He oversees the involvement team, and loves working with students and student organizations to provide resource and education. Additionally, he oversees community and civic engagement opportunities for students, including our on-campus voting efforts. Brandon also teaches on campus, co-chairs the Queer Employee Organization (QWSU), and is the treasurer for the Middle Eastern North African+ Employee Association. On the state level, Brandon was appointed by Governor Whitmer in 2023 to serve on the LGBTQ+ Commission for the State of Michigan through 2027 representing educators.
Brandon earned two bachelor's degrees in Secondary Education and Romance Languages (Spanish) from WSU in 2014, and a M.Ed. in College Student Affairs Leadership from Grand Valley State University in 2017. He has been working in higher education since then and is currently a doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Ed.D. program at WSU.
