Marion Tate chose to be a SURGE mentor to help others through the challenging journey of higher education. Her greatest satisfaction comes from interacting with and motivating people. When it comes to Detroit, she can’t get enough of the outdoors and likes to swim, hike and bike around the city. Last year she rode over 400 miles around Metro Detroit and plans to log 1,000 miles in 2022.
