Biography:

Davis is a macro- and micro- licensed social worker with over 20 years experience in the non-profit arena in metropolitan Detroit. Besides teaching at Wayne State, Davis is the main principal of Soul Fire, LLC., which provides organization development and event planning services to non-profits and small businesses.  Her clients have included, Home for Black Children, Alternatives for Girls, SASHA Center, and DMC's Path to Health Campaign. She also recently served as the director of supportive oncology services at a local cancer center.

Having a passion for the alleviation of domestic violence in our community, Davis is the founder of Serenity Services, a local domestic violence agency. She also serves on many boards and committees including the Association of Oncology Social Work, Sisters Acquiring Financial Empowerment, and Lakehouse Cancer Center to name a few.  Additionally, she is active and serves on the executive board of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Detroit Alumnae Chapter.
 
Her primary interests include issues involving women, oncology, and leadership. She enjoys exposing future social workers to the macro side of social work. Davis received her MSW at Wayne State and is expecting to finish her PhD in organizational psychology in the winter of 2015.
