Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS)     LeRoy (PI)      10/2015-11/2016

This project will focus on evaluating the efficacy of Michigan’s Statewide Transition Plan for Home and Community-Based Settings in addressing the recent Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) rule change on Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) and the impact on the adults with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and recipients of Habilitation Supports Waiver.

The goal of the study was to examine the current status of students with special educational needs by country, student demography, & academic performance and its impact on policy issues of Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) administration by the Organization for Economic Co-operation & Development (OECD), under the Thomas J. Alexander Fellowship program for 2014.

Evaluation of Project TEAM (Teens making Environmental and Activity Modifications): Effectiveness, Social Validity and Feasibility. The goal of this multi-site field initiated grant is to empower youth with developmental disabilities to overcome environmental barriers to increase participation in life roles, using a community based participatory action methods of research.

Evaluation of Quality of Life of Families of Children with Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities.

The goal of this project is to examine the psychometrics measures of family (FQOLS-2006 and Beach Center FQOL Survey) and child centered measures (ABAS II) of well being, for patients in an urban health care system in Detroit.

The goal of this pilot grant funded by the Michigan Center on Urban African American Aging Research (MCUAAAR) is to examine caregiver burden and quality of life of grandparent caregivers.
