Biography:

Dr. McGrath is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. He diagnoses and treats medical conditions caused by infectious agents such as bacteria, viruses, fungus, or parasites. Some common infections he treats includes recurrent infections in the ears or sinuses, lung, skin, bone, and joints, as well as hepatitis C, syphilis, HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus) types 1 and 2, and HIV infections in infants, children and young adults. He also treats patients with recurrent or persistent fevers without a clear cause or explanation.

In addition to his role as a Wayne Pediatrics specialist, Dr. McGrath serves as a professor of pediatrics for the Division of Infectious Diseases & Prevention at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is also a founding member and director of Wayne Pediatrics, a 501c3 nonprofit medical practice, and medical provider for The Horizons Project, part of Wayne Pediatrics, providing support services for both at-risk youth and those living with HIV or AIDS, as well as prevention services.

Dr. McGrath is a proud husband, father of two and dog owner of Chloe, his trusted Shih Tzu.

 

Education – Degrees, Licenses, Certifications: Dr. McGrath received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI, where he also completed pediatric residency training and a fellowship at Children's Hospital of Michigan.
