Mr. Shields has 37+ years of experience teaching business courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels with an emphasis on management, organization behavior (including creativity and improvisation) and entrepreneurism. He has owned and operated his own businesses for the last 20 years and worked with more than 2000 small and start-up businesses as part of the university's former Small Business Development Center and Technology Transfer Center. He is an advisor to the university's C2 Pipeline high school entrepreneur program, and the MISB high school entrepreneur dual enrollment program, and, formerly, YEA, a partnership with the National Association of Women Business Owners.
