Transfer Student Spotlight: Meet Kevin Papuga
Major: Public Relations
Minor: Communication Studies
Transferred from: Jackson College
Tips for transfer students: If you're a transfer student at WSU, I encourage you to make the most out of this experience by putting your best foot forward, pushing past any comfort zones, and embracing the new you - the one WSU will help you attain. WSU has student, organizational, and professional opportunities available every single day; remember, showing up is half the battle. Your experience at Wayne State University has the potential to be whatever you desire, and the choice is yours!
What attracted you to WSU? Wayne State was especially attractive to me because of the geographical location and outstanding diversity. It is important to me to be located in an area where I can be exposed to as many new people, places, and ideas as possible. WSU's location and noted cultural diversity checked both of those boxes, and it has not disappointed!
Post-Graduation Plans: After graduation, I plan on using my Public Relations degree as an avenue into higher education. My plan is to begin in admissions or academic advising. Student success is very important to me and I know I will make a huge difference both professionally and personally. Higher education is my fist stop, but not my final destination. I would love to obtain my MBA while working for a university, continue at that university for a good deal of time, serve as an adjunct professor at a community college, continue in professional development courses, and when the time is right, make my move into professional development. I believe having an extensive career in higher education will enhance my opportunities to be both a unique and effective administrator of professional development.
