Baseball players slide into All-Academic honors
It's always an honor when Wayne State's student-athletes get All-Academic recognition from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, but when those students are transfers bringing their talents from another school, that is certainly a home run.
All-Academic Excellence team members have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5; players named to the All-Academic team have a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49.

The psychology major is a native of Brampton, Ontario, and transferred from Johnson City Community College in Kansas before landing on the All-Academic Excellence team. A member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a former member of the WSU Student Leadership Council, All-Academic Excellence isn't Daring's only recognition, as he was also named the Troy Berry Award winner for "his character, leadership and integrity." It must be something in the name.

Also maintaining a GPA worthy of All-Academic Excellence, the St. Clair Community College transfer and accounting major brought studiousness and athletic success to Wayne State. McInerney was on the All-Academic team last year but has boosted himself up to the All-Academic Excellence team this year. His season included a career-high strikeout game, in addition to his off-field endeavors with the WSU Student Leadership Council.

Named to the GLIAC All-Academic team, the criminal justice major is no stranger to All-Academic recognition, as during his time at Macomb Community College he was named to their All-Academic team. He was also Team MVP and an All-Conference selection.
