UPDATE: 7:00 p.m. The gas leak at the intersection of Second St. and Warren Ave. has been repaired and the campus is now open. All Housing units are back to normal operation. All other activities will resume as scheduled.
UPDATE: 5:05 p.m. All of main campus is being evacuated. Classes are canceled.
Evacuation includes all housing buildings on main campus. The evacuation location for campus residents is Matthaei Physical Education Center. University Towers Apartments and The Thompson Home will remain open.

Gas line break
A construction crew working on the roadway at Second and Warren has hit an underground gas main. The odor and sound of escaping natural gas is very strong in the area of Second (Gullen Mall) and Warren.
Students, staff and faculty are urged to avoid the area of Gullen Mall and W. Warren until further notice.
Warren Ave. has now been closed between Cass Ave. and Anthony Wayne Drive.
