Tau Sigma National Honor Society
WSU chapter information
Tau Sigma is a national honor society designed exclusively for Transfer students. Tau Sigma's mission is to "recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students." On Wednesday, February 28, 2018 Wayne State University inducted its first chapter, welcoming the 180th chapter: ETA XI at Wayne State University. Our first chapter has welcomed 130 members.
Membership in the Organization is based upon superior academic achievement by transfer students during their first semester or session of attendance at WSU. Transfer students will need to have completed a full course load of 12 or more credit hours, and have a semester GPA of a 3.5 or higher. If these criteria are met, then an invitation to become a member of Tau Sigma will be extended. The induction ceremony will be held in the winter semester of every year.
Being a part of Tau Sigma allows students the opportunity to develop new friendships, become more engaged on and off campus, and develop premiere leadership skills. A common bond is built amongst the students in WSU's Tau Sigma chapter, who are representing the high achieving students our campus has to offer.
