Resources for community college counselors

We have a long history and commitment to serving transfer students. We want to continue to build on that history and execute strategic partnerships with our community college partners.

We can help you with any of these areas:

Counselor/advisor update visits

Community college counselor update visits to campus allow Wayne State staff to provide our community college colleagues with the latest details on academic programs, scholarships and deadlines at WSU.

Articulation agreements

Articulation agreements between academic programs. Articulation agreements are formal, legal documents that provide specific benefits for students, such as allowing more credit to transfer or guaranteeing admission to programs. We can help you connect with an academic program at WSU to discuss articulation agreements.

Customized campus visits

Customized campus visits by counselors/advisors, academic department personnel, student groups or others who would like to visit campus or one of our extension centers.

Transitions event for community college staff

We also plan an annual fall professional development opportunity, Transitions, for all community college personnel. Transitions provides opportunities to learn more about Wayne State and how we can partner in student success, and allows you to connect with many people at WSU. Of course, we also provide lunch and networking opportunities!

Contact Doug Freed, director of the TSSC, at ac7653@wayne.edu or 313-577-0149 to discuss any of these opportunities.

For additional information about our application fee waiver or admissions requirements, see the counselors page on our Admissions website.
