Admitted transfer students
We want to make your transfer as easy as possible. Please contact the Transfer Student Success Center at any point if you need help getting started or have questions along the way.
Log in to Academica
Academica is where you'll go to conduct business with Wayne State. Check your email through Academica frequently — that is how the university will communicate with you about crucial issues such as financial aid.Step 2
Review Transfer Credit Evaluation
You will be notified via WSU email when your evaluation is complete. Log in to Academica using your Access ID and password. Under Student Resources, click on Degree Works. Once you are logged into Degree Works, view your Degree Worksheet, which shows all of your degree requirements.Step 3
Meet with an advisor
Your advisor will help you develop a course plan and prepare you to register for classes; meet with them as early as possible for the best selection. They will also let you know if you need to take any placement exams.Step 4
Sign up for an orientation session to ensure a smart start. You'll learn about campus resources, find out how to successfully navigate through the university, get to know fellow students, and network with faculty and staff.Step 5
Nearly 3,000 students live on campus in WSU apartments and residence halls. There are also many private residences in the surrounding area. Focus your search on the fun and inviting Midtown area when looking for off-campus options. Check out our Transfer Student Living Learning Community (LLC), which aims to provide transfer students with an on-campus experience focused on belonging.Step 6
Submit your final transcripts
If you are still in your current semester at another institution, be sure to have your updated transcripts sent to WSU upon completion of the semester so we can update your transfer credit information.
