Warrior Senior Sprint Scholarship
Students who are close to graduation, in good academic standing and have a clear pathway to graduate by August 2020 may be eligible for a scholarship covering tuition during the 2020 spring-summer semester. We want help to support every student who has the potential to graduate next year, helping them stay on track academically, register for the courses they need, take advantage of career services and graduate.
To indicate your interest in the Warrior Senior Sprint Scholarship you must complete the 2019-20 Warrior Senior Sprint Scholarship Form and submit it to the Office of Student Financial Aid. What does the Warrior Senior Sprint Scholarship cover?
The Warrior Senior Sprint Scholarship is a scholarship for the spring-summer 2020 semester. You must apply for the award and if approved, your spring-summer tuition and fees will be covered by a scholarship, which is applied after all other sources of financial aid.
Who is eligible for the scholarship?
If you are an undergraduate student who enrolled in college for the first time in the fall 2014 or the fall 2015 semester with a plan of work indicating you can graduate by August 2020, you may be considered for this award. The plan of work must be reviewed and endorsed by your academic advisor. Eligible students must have completed the 2019-20 FAFSA and all aid requirements before award consideration.
How do I apply?
- Complete the 2019-20 Warrior Senior Sprint Scholarship Form which requires an advisor signature. Meet with an academic advisor to complete an approved academic plan of work. The academic plan will list courses required for you to graduate by the end of the spring-summer 2020 semester.
Submit the Warrior Senior Sprint Scholarship Form with your advisor signature to the Office of Student Financial Aid by Friday, May 15, 2020.
- Complete the 2019-20 FAFSA and all requirements. Review Academica for any outstanding financial aid requirements.
How will the decision be made about who will receive the scholarship?
Priority will be given to students who are enrolled full-time during fall 2019 and winter 2020 semesters and have a GPA over 2.5.
Do I have to be enrolled full-time in the fall and winter semesters in order to qualify for this scholarship?
Each scholarship application will be considered on a case-by-case basis. However, priority will be given to students who enrolled full-time, since the purpose of the scholarship is to encourage graduation in a timely manner.
Is full-time enrollment required in spring-summer semester as well?
No. You need to take the classes that are on the plan of work leading to graduation by August 2020. If you only need one or two classes, then you should not take any additional courses.
The Office of Student Financial Aid will confirm you are in the required courses before disbursing the award in the spring-summer semester.
Is there a credit hour maximum for the spring-summer semester?
Yes, the award will cover up to 9 credit hours in the spring-summer 2020 semester.
Must I follow the plan of work?
Yes. If changes must be made to the plan of work, they must be approved by your academic advisor. If you are no longer on track to graduate in August 2020, you will not be awarded the scholarship.
How will academic advisors provide their endorsement of the application and plan of work?
The advisor will review the plan of work and determine if the student has the potential to graduate by August 2020, if the plan of work is followed. The advisor will also need to sign the Senior Sprint Scholarship form.
What is the deadline to meet with an academic advisor and complete a plan of work?
May 15, 2020
When will I be notified of I am eligible?
The award will be posted along with any other spring-summer awards in April 2020. Awards can be viewed in Academica.
