Cheryl A. Kollin (ac9693)

Cheryl Kollin has had the honor of working as an academic advisor and academic administrator since January of 1991. She began her career in the University Advising Center (UAC) as a generalist advisor/orientation advisor working with first-time and transfer students. She moved to the role of pre-med advisor supporting the academic needs of students pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry and veterinary science.

After several years as interim Director of the UAC, Cheryl was named Director in 2012 and Senior Director in 2021. As Director, her responsibilities include Exploratory Advising, Pre-Professional Advising, Pre-Med and Health Science Center, Adult Learner/Warrior Way Back Programs, Phoenix Program and the Col. Gregory Gadson Office of Military Veterans Academic Excellence.

Cheryl looks forward to continuing her leadership role in the Office of Student Success and supporting Wayne State students and staff.

Cheryl earned her BA in Legal Studies from Grand Valley State University, an MA in Counseling from Eastern Michigan University and has enjoyed taking many post-graduate classes at Wayne State University.
