"˜What is Wayne, Alex?'

Jeopardy! Wayne StateIf you were watching Jeopardy! on April 12, you might have noticed a familiar question. The clue: “It’s Detroit’s county and is on the name of a state university there.” Any guesses?

The question was asked during Jeopardy!’s College Championship tournament. Contestants were from The University of Chicago, Swarthmore College and Vanderbilt University. The winner, Rebecca from Swarthmore, incorrectly guessed Ford. In her defense, it was a $2,000 question during the Double Jeopardy! round. But for Warriors, the answer was a no-brainer.

The full episode can be found here. Wayne State's moment in the spotlight appears at the 14:16 mark.

It’s not the first time WSU has been featured on the popular quiz show. In 2011, Wayne State’s Walter P. Reuther Library was a clue — "The Walter P. Reuther Library at Wayne State University in Detroit is devoted to this movement." Answer: "What is labor?" And in 2008, Wayne State Department of Economics Professor Allen Goodman was a Jeopardy! contestant.
