Wayne State approves discounted student parking passes for 2017-18

Wayne State University has announced a discount in the cost of semester parking passes for students. Effective fall 2017, the cost for student semester parking passes will be $222, a decrease of 25 percent over the planned fall 2017 rate.

Parking passes for fall 2017 are now available for purchase online or in person at the OneCard/Parking Service Center in the Welcome Center.

The lower cost was recommended by President M. Roy Wilson to help students with their overall attendance costs, and to encourage a greater presence on campus for both academic and non-academic activities. The discount will be paid for by a transfer of general fund support from the housing budget, a move made possible by WSU’s partnership with Corvias on the Anthony Wayne Drive Apartment project.

“All of our decisions are made with students and their success in mind,” Wilson said. “We hope that lowering the cost of the semester parking pass will further encourage students to be more engaged in the campus community.”
