Cheer on your Warriors at home opener

Join your friends and begin Warrior Days on a high note by rallying behind the Wayne State football team during its 2017 home opener against the Indianapolis Greyhounds this Saturday at Adams Field. Admission is free for students with their OneCard. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

The Warriors (1-0), who defeated Walsh 28-9 in their season opener on Sept. 2, hope to defeat the 18th-ranked Indianapolis. This will be the Greyhounds’ first visit to Detroit since 2010. Both teams are looking to improve to 2-0 records and take early control of the conference.

Students are encouraged to arrive early for a tailgate party beginning at 2 p.m., which will include the social activities originally scheduled for FestiFall. The party, hosted by the Campus Activities Team, will include hot dogs, chips, beverages, games, music, contests and more. The remaining FestiFall activities — including the ice cream treats and meet and greet opportunities with student organizations, university departments, and the deans — will be included in Student Organizations Day on Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
