WSU mulls $12 million tech ed center in Warren
February 3, 2013
Wayne State University could build a new $12 million, 40,000-square-foot Advanced Technology Education Center in Warren near Macomb Community College during the next academic year, using funds from a bond sale under review this week. A committee of the university Board of Governors will consider on Wednesday a 32-year, $92 million bond sale to fund various projects, including $31 million toward its $93 million Multidisciplinary Biomedical Research Building in Detroit and $9 million toward the $12 million cost of a Macomb extension center project. The Macomb center, on the grounds of a former Farmer Jack store the university purchased in 2011, would be the third phase of a Macomb County expansion the university began in 2007, according to a report by Richard Nork, WSU vice president of finance and business operations.
