Judge stops forfeiture procedures to seize home of MI Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway
December 19, 2012
A federal judge has temporarily stopped forfeiture procedures to seize the home of Michigan Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway. The move could signal that change is afoot behind the scenes, ranging from upcoming criminal charges to some sort of settlement of the present civil case, said Wayne State University law professor Peter Henning. The moves come as part of an ongoing civil complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney against Hathaway and her husband, alleging fraud and money laundering against the duo.
