Teaches and researches in the areas of children’s literature, writing, curriculum, collaborative learning environments, and inquiry.  Her current research focus examines mentoring in writing especially within urban settings.

1.     TITLE: Interactive Writing with Young Children (2007-present)

Collaborative Research with two Kindergarten teachers that examines mentors for young writers.

2.     TITLE: Coaching in the Wayne State Writing Project (2008-present).

Examination of coaches as mentors with participants in the summer ‘08 Writing Project.
