Hua has worked on the use and real-time processing of visual perception data that allow cars to “see” and respond to traffic inputs. He can help answer questions on the progress and future of self-driving vehicle technology in this area. He is the founding director of the Computer Graphics and Imaging Lab (GIL) and Visualization Lab (VIS) in the computer science department at Wayne State University. Hua received his Ph.D. in computer science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2004.
