Members of Mike Ilitch School of Business community to be honored at MICPA Awards Dinner

Members of the Mike Ilitch School of Business community will be honored at the 2018 Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants Awards Dinner on Oct. 3.https://ilitchbusiness.wayne.edu/news-images/micpa.jpg

With over 18,300 members, MICPA is the leading statewide professional organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing the value of the CPA profession. According to its website, the event's honorees are individuals within the accounting profession that have exemplified excellence through dedication, leadership and service.

Among the honorees include Diversity and Inclusion Award winner Roger Short, an accounting instructor at Ilitch Business.

"Devoted to furthering diversity and inclusion in the accounting profession, Short is also a leader in the community," according to MICPA. "He’s an active accounting instructor, and mentors and provides scholarships to minorities and non-traditional students through his involvement in the Austin Scholars Program." 

The Distinguished Service Award winner is Wayne State University alumnus Antony P. Frabotta, and Wayne State University accounting student Shavonte Ross will receive the Outstanding Student Member Award.

This year’s honorees will be awarded at a dinner at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The evening will kick-off with a reception at 5:00 p.m. with the dinner and awards presentation to follow at 6:00 p.m.
