TED 2250 (Becoming an Urban Educator)

Becoming an Urban Educator is a course that engages students in exploring social, historical, and political issues relevant to diversity, equity, and social justice in urban education. Students complete a semester-long service-learning project in urban preK-12 schools and collaborate on projects to develop an understanding of culturally responsive teaching connected to the resources and strengths of the communities schools serve. Peer mentors serve in several important roles: coordinating service-learning work; supporting projects; and facilitating small group discussions and activities in class. Students enroll in TED 2250.
