Detroit Urban Scholars Program
The Detroit Urban Scholars Learning Community is a scholarship program for city of Detroit high school graduates. This scholarship is for incoming freshmen who have shown not only an ability to excel in the academic arena but who are also engaged in their communities through service and leadership. Freshmen and sophomores will follow a uniform program which includes class selection, weekly tutoring, bi-weekly mentoring activities, participation in monthly service activities and monthly meetings with their community mentor. Juniors and seniors remain members of Detroit Urban Scholars and continue to utilize these resources as needed to continue academic success and leadership development. A sense of community is also promoted by the various social activities hosted by this LC. Open to current Detroit Urban Scholars Scholarship recipients only.
