Mentoring for Doctoral Student Success 2017 awardees announced

The Graduate School's new Mentoring for Doctoral Student Success initiative encourages evidence-based mentoring practices and departmental strategies to build the culture of graduate student mentoring and support student success. The 2017 awardees are:

The Department of Communication: Students and faculty will together attend a boot camp led by an expert faculty mentor. Students will participate in a Doctoral Research Showcase including a poster session, mock job interviews, and feedback sessions with faculty to improve their skills.

College of Nursing: Includes a needs assessment of doctoral students, faculty-led mentoring sessions for doctoral students on psychosocial barriers that affect academic and work life, and the development of a peer mentoring program.
