Parent PIN setup

The Parent Pin functionality of WSU's online payment system (CASHNet Smartpay) allows a student to assign a parent or authorized person to make payment on the student's WSU student account. Students set up Parent PINs by accessing the Student Account Dashboard through Academica. CASHNet Smartpay is a secure payment system that maintains separate payment methods for students and parents. This prevents parents from accessing student payment methods and vice versa.

To set up a parent or authorized person PIN:

  • Click here to go to Student Account Dashboard
  • If you are using a mobile device click on the menu bar with the three lines located on the top left hand side of the screen.  Next click on "My Account".
  • If you are using a laptop or desktop click on "My Account" located on the top left hand side of the screen.
  • Click on "Send a payer invitation" under the Payers section.
  • Complete the "Payor Information"form and click "Save Invitation"

To reset a parent or authorized person password

  • Click here to go to Student Account Dashboard
  • If you are using a mobile device click on the menu bar with the three lines located on the top left hand side of the screen.  Next click on "My Account".
  • If you are using a laptop or desktop click on "My Account" located on the top left hand side of the screen.
  • Click on the Payor's name under the Payers section.
  • Click on "resend payor invitation and then click "Save"

 

Note: When a student resets a parent's or authorized person's password, any saved payment methods, which that user has stored on the system, will be removed. This it to prevent the student from gaining access to use those saved payment methods
