The men's basketball team continues playing strong, currently sitting atop the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) standings.
WSU has ranked in the top 25 nationally the last few weeks and is approaching the school record for league wins in a season. Three WSU players - Chene Phillips, Mike Hollingsworth and Ian Larkin - earned GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors this year.
Not to be outdone, the women's basketball squad has won 11 of its last 13 games and is battling for first place in the GLIAC North Division. The ladies are also poised to eclipse the school record for league wins in a season.
Senior Talisha Bridges is a two-time Conference Player of the Week selection this season. Additionally, senior center Juanita Cochran earned the honor this week.
Both squads will play at home Feb. 14 (men at 6 p.m. and women at 8 p.m.), Feb. 16 (men at 1 p.m. and women at 3 p.m.) and Feb. 21 (men at 6 p.m. and women at 8 p.m.).
Stay tuned to wsuathletics.com as both teams try to clinch a top seed and a home playoff game, scheduled for Wednesday, March 6.
