The Student Tracking Advising Retention System (STARS) is a web application that interacts with a collection of WSU databases. It is designed to provide convenient access to university data at both an individual and aggregate level for advising, retention, curriculum tracking and program evaluation.
Anyone with a valid WSU Access ID can log on to the Stars Student Profile with the default "Student" status. Users with this status can view their own student data but cannot access the reports module. WSU faculty and staff can request the additional access required to perform their duties.
STARS provides immediate access to an unofficial copy of a student transcript and a degree audit system showing requirements for each academic program. STARS also allows students and their advisors to map out an individualized plan of work (POW), outlining the classes students will take toward their degree in a specified timeframe. Visit stars.wayne.edu for detailed information on STARS and its compenents.
