Keynote Speaker: Eric Thomas
Eric is a renowned speaker, educator, author, activist and minister rising to National promienence by delivering high energy messages that encourage people to live up to their full potential by breaking cycles of crime, hopelessness and despair that many face daily. Known for his engagingly personal approach, his messages are both dynamic and inspiring.
These sessions are tailored to provide you with information to support you in the classroom and help build your connections around WSU. Join us at 3:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the sessions of your choice.
Dinner and social events
Stick around after dinner in the newly renovated Towers Cafe to mingle with your fellow Warriors in Keast Commons.

New Student Convocation on front steps of McGregor
Convocation is the formal welcome to the university. Parents and family members do not need to RSVP to attend with their new WSU Warrior. The ceremony celebrates the beginning of the class of 2017’s academic career.
Festifall picnic, Gullen Mall
Continue the celebration at Festifall. Interact with different campus departments, learn more about 52 of Detroit's businesses and organizations, meet some of our 400 student organizations and enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of campus.
Meet the dean and learning community meetings
Take the opportunity to meet the dean from your school or college. Deans will personally welcome you, share their tips for success and give you new information about your school or college.
If you have signed up for a learning community, you will meet with your respective groups to conclude your celebrations of the day.
Irvin D. Reid Honors College Induction
If you are a new member of the Irvin D. Reid Honors College, you are invited to be welcomed in a special ceremony that will celebrate your achievements.
Greek 101 Presentation
All students and families are invited to learn more about joining a fraternity or sorority. We will discuss what it means to be a part of the Greek community, financial requirements as well as provide a chance for you to hear from students who are members of WSU's fraternities and sororities and their parents.
