Welcome
Here at Wayne State University, we understand that faculty are the lifeblood of the university. In order to help you acclimate to your new position, WSU offers a comprehensive, three-day orientation for new faculty. Come join us August 21-23 2012, as we cover tenure and promotion standards, demonstrate available resources for research and provide opportunities to meet colleagues from across the campus. You will also have the ability to talk to representatives from Human Resources and fill out any paperwork necessary to receive benefits.
After meeting on campus, we will begin our orientation with a welcoming reception hosted by University President Allan Gilmour. We end our orientation with a networking reception that allows you to meet other junior faculty and learn what they wish they had known when they started at WSU. Throughout the three days, we encourage you to meet other new faculty, identify people and services to ensure a seamless first year and ask any questions you may have.
