Wayne State University and MJS Packaging are deeply saddened to announce the death of Elaine L. Jacob. Jacob died peacefully at her home the morning of Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at age 93.

The Wayne State University Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences today announced that Steven M. Firestine, Ph.D., associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences, is part of a research team awarded more than $3.2 million from the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to prove the effectiveness of a new treatment for Clostridium difficile infection.
